Photo AlbumFloody tale from Valero (16 photos)Sep 18, '07 10:01 PM
for everyone

Stranded. Time to kill time. My hands on my digicam to keep it warm and clicking.

Torrential rain and gusty wind whip through the towers of Valero making pedestrians at road level seemed like poor chicks lost from mother hen's care.

Then I saw one lady screaming from the other side of the street. With barefeet, she was braving the floodwaters to chase for the other pair of her sandals. Too bad, it was swept away. At least, she still got the other half.

All these before my eyes on the morning of August 15, 2007.

That certain wasp of romance with rain pouring in at night is undeniable and it can be best observed at the seat nearest a PUV's rear end.

for everyone

Malabon, September 3, 2005

Days after supertyphoon Milenyo slashed through this sleepy lakeside town of Tanay in Rizal, the parola (or the light tower) became the centerpoint for all the folks whose lives depend on the bounty of the Laguna Lake.

They started to repair their fish nets. Rebuild fish pens. Fish vendors had returned as well as children had the day to spend with playing at the shadow of this humble landmark.

Then as I stood before the fading sun at the highest point of the parola, I felt being embraced by the wind as I wonder what other stories could she have been telling me. All I had was a Nokia 6600 mobile phone camera to snap photos of that day when the coast had been declared safe.
