Weary folks of Media Meter trooped to the Camayan Beach Resort in Subic for the annual communion with the Mighty Sun last May 28. But storm came and blocked our sunlight. The sea roared and raindrops pelted on our skin.
We took Nature's play of power positively. Rather sulk in our huts and airconditioned rooms (Nice interiors...), we braved the wrath of amihan with child-like glee and wanton surrender.
On this set, summer came brightly the next morning. Brand new day. Gone were the toxins of partying overnight. It was a breath of fresh air before going back to the routine of city living.
I was pretty eager to see the fabled lighthouse of Calatagan one fine summer day when my friend and I decided to make a detour to this little known piece of paradise.
I've only been to the beaches of Puerto Galera (the water is itchy in "White Beach" area), Dagupan and San Fabian in Pangasian and Isla Pulo in Navotas. But seeing the uncommercialized beauty of this strip made me feel the most blessed neophyte beachcomber.
